Alphonse Mouzon was a jazz fusion drumming legend. He was an influence to many famed musicians such as Questlove of The Roots, and John Bonham of Led Zeppelin. In addition to touring and making about 20 albums as a solo artist, Alphonse was a founding member of Weather Report, and he recorded and toured with an extensive list of some of the biggest names in music. Alphonse passed on an impressive collection of vintage instruments and gear to his family, and they have decided to sell much of it through Astound Sound.

This cabinet was owned by the legendary jazz musician and has had some refurbishing done to the exterior. The corner protectors, side handles, top anti-skid plates, speaker grill cloth, and Marshall logo have all been replaced with brand new materials. The original tolex covering is still in excellent shape, with only minor damage. The speakers are all original; however, one of them has has been re-coned with a 53H1777 replacement, as it had a large hole in it from something tearing through the original speaker cloth and cone. The other speaker cones have had some minor repairs since they are very old. The speakers are Celestion Greenback G12M T1511 and the date codes start with HF, which means they are from August 1973. I am pretty sure the speakers are Pulsonics, but I couldn't find any legible stamps on them.
